Definition :- Someone who has been functioning in a gift and calling and after public acknowledgment is finally commissioned to officially function in those gifts and callings.
Being a Reverend can sometimes be a great key in getting into hospitals when its not visiting times. It’s use apart from that escapes me. There is of course some denominational and local church validation of the individual, but after the event, sticking the piece of paper up on the wall to cover the poor decor is often as useful as a the title gets. After all you can become a Reverend on the internet for a couple of bucks and I have never, I mean never seem a drop down title box in any software program that leaves you with the option of Reverend. I am bitter and ranting at the moment, so I shall desist.
I was ordained by the ministers and trustees of the Countess of Huntington Connection. Now you have really got to understand your English church history both past and present to get a grip of the importance and heritage of that one. Great validation would be that the George Whitfield (who was also a Reverend) was chaplain to the Countess and of course August Toplady (Who was also a Reverend and never forgave his father for not changing the family name to something more manly) was one of the Connexions Bible school presidents.
Suffice to say that I am officially a Reverend and would appreciate all appropriate bowing and forelock touching the next time you pass me in the street. Thank you!
(P.S. Being a Reverend, I can marry you or bury you. Contact me please before both events.)

“Top Government official Ian Denyer, from Bolney, has become one of the very few people to be made an MVO – the Royal Victorian Order.
This is an Order of Chivalry and the Queen’s personal gift, which makes it very special.
Mr Denyer said: “This award has, as far as I am concerned at least, all come rather out of the blue, though it is a welcome surprise to be honoured by Her Majesty in this way.”
Mr Denyer is also chairman of the Bolney Parish Council, a governor of Bolney Primary School, chairman of the local branch of The Gideons and a trustee of the Brighton-based homeless charity Off the Fence.
He has been employed in the public service for more than 30 years. At present he is head of the Crown Office in the House of Lords, Clerk of the Chamber and Deputy Clerk of the Crown in Chancery.”
